Application Process
Applications for employment are accepted for open positions only.
Apply online Opens a New Window. or by calling the Human Resources Office at 707-431-3322. To be considered for a position with the city, completed applications must be submitted no later than the filing deadline.
Selection Process
The qualifications of each applicant, as set forth in the application, will be reviewed by a screening committee. Those applicants determined to be best qualified for the position will be invited to continue in the recruitment process. Candidates participating in an oral interview will be evaluated on experience, training and personal qualifications for the position. The City of Healdsburg reserves the right to modify the selection process as necessary to conform to administrative or business necessity.
Employment Information
The City of Healdsburg will require, as a condition of employment, documentation of the legal right to work in the United States. The candidate selected for the position may be required to successfully pass a thorough physical examination given by a city-designated physician. Background and references checks will be conducted on the final candidate. Candidates being considered for appointment may be required to submit to fingerprints and criminal history investigation, pursuant to California Education Code 109.11.5.
In accordance with federal requirements, all applicants selected for appointment for positions performing safety sensitive functions are subject to drug and alcohol tests in the following situations:
- Pre-employment
- Unannounced random
- Post accident
- Reasonable cause
- Return to duty
- Follow-up
Accommodation
Candidates who require special accommodations due to a legal disability, should supply the Personnel Department with documentation and a written request 5 days prior to the date of examination on the need for accommodation.
