MEASURE V FUNDED STREET IMPROVEMENTS UPDATE
The City Council approved, Measure V funded Street Rehabilitation Project is almost complete. The project cost was $867,000 and rehabilitated approximately 5 miles of City streets, slightly more than 10% of the entire street network. All project streets have been chip sealed (bottom layer). All but five street segments have received microsurfacing (top seal). The five remaining streets will receive microsurfacing next Monday, September 21 (weather permitting). Final pavement striping layouts began this week and the new striping will be completed by September 30th.
The streets which were rehabilitated include (in alphabetical order): Azalea, Burgundy, Cabernet, Chablis, Chiquita – 101 to City Limit, Creekside, Crofton, Daisy, El Arroyo, Fieldcrest, Foothill, Fuchsia, Lily, Lupine, Meadow, Oakleaf, Pheasant, Poppy Hill – Sunnyvale to El Arroyo, Prentice – Terrace to end, Rosewood – Solar to Lorraine, Solar, Sunnyvale, Sylvan, Tulip, Twin Oaks, University – Sunnyvale to March, Westmont, Willow Glen, Woodside, Zinfandel.
A second Measure V funded Street Rehabilitation Project will begin the Spring of 2016. It will be a combination of chip seals and overlays with an estimated cost of $1.2 million. We estimate that this project will cover approximately 2 miles of streets or 4% of the street network in the city of Healdsburg.
