[ARCHIVED] An Opportunity to Serve the Healdsburg Community

A Picture of City Hall at Night

An Opportunity to Serve the Healdsburg Community

Please consider applying for an appointed seat on the Healdsburg City Council.

This seat may be a short-term appointment (of 4-5 months) or a longer-term appointment (of 2 years and 4-5 months). The four members of the City Council, in consultation with the community, will decide whether to make this a short-term or longer-term appointment. Applicants will be asked which term they might prefer, and for what reasons.

If the Council selects an applicant for the short-term appointment, applicants may decide to run as a candidate in the Special Election or in the General Election (both would be held the same day – November 3, 2020).

The City Council welcomes applications from any registered voter in the community, and the Council encourages applications from persons representing the community’s diversity.

Applications are available in both English and Spanish.

Please note that there is a short turn-around time to fill out the application.  It is due on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 12:00 Noon. This deadline is because the Council may wish to call a Special Election (if the Council appoints a person for the short-term seat) and, if the Council calls the election, it must do so by July 12, 2020.

Please note, too, that applicants may be asked to participate in public interviews (via WebEx) on or about 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7th.

All applications are public records, and will be included in the Council’s public agenda for the Tuesday, July 7 meeting.  Personal information may be redacted.

Please sign and return this form with the questions answered via an email to Raina Allan, City Clerk, at rallan@ci.healdsburg.ca.us. You may also drop off the form and questions at Healdsburg City Hall (401 Grove Street, Healdsburg CA) in the Utility Billing Drop-box to the north of City Hall. Please do not mail the form, as it may not get to the City by the July 3, 2020 Noon deadline. If you have any questions about this application, please call Ms. Allan at 707-431-3317.
