The Healdsburg City Council encourages residents to apply for positions on the following City Boards, Commissions, and Committees for appointment in January 2020.
PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION
The Parks and Recreation Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council and the Community Services Department on policies and programs pertaining to parks, recreation facilities, and programming.
The eight members of the Commission are appointed by a majority of the City Council, each member to serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and the City Council for three (3) year terms and until a successor is appointed. All members serve without compensation. The Commission meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 6 PM in the City Hall Council Chamber or such other time and place as the Commission may establish from time to time following proper notice. Two of the members may reside outside the City limits but must reside within the boundaries of the Healdsburg Unified School District. One of the members may be designated as a parks and recreation youth commissioner who shall be under the age of 18 or a full time student under the age of 21.
SENIOR CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMISSION
The Senior Citizen Advisory Commission advises the City Council and the Community Services Department on matters relating to policies and programs which serve senior citizens of the community.
The up-to-seven members of the Commission are appointed by the City Council. The term of office of all members is three (3) years. The Commission meets the 4th Wednesday of the month, in the City Hall Council Chamber, 401 Grove Street, Healdsburg, CA or at such other time and location as the Commission may establish from time to time following proper notice. Members must reside within the City limits and be senior citizens (55 years of age or older).
