The City of Healdsburg is closely monitoring and preparing for PG&E’s possible public-safety power shutdowns of tonight and tomorrow. As you know, the City operates its own electric-utility department -- separate from PG&E -- and almost all residents and businesses within the city limits are City electric customers.
You may see news reports that other local cities and counties have activated their emergency-operations centers (EOC) due to the possible power shutdowns. Please know that the City of Healdsburg has NOT activated its EOC. We will provide more updates later today.
We recommend that you read our utility wildfire FAQs: https://www.ci.healdsburg.ca.us/907/Attention---Utility-Wildfire-Safety. The FAQs answer questions such as:
- How will a PG&E outage affect Healdsburg?
- How will the City’s electric customers know if there is a public-safety power shutdown?
