[ARCHIVED] Volunteer Opportunities: Climate Action Advisory Committee

Healdsburg City Council Member Joe Naujokas is seeking volunteers to serve as jurisdiction representatives on the Climate Action Advisory Committee (CAAC) for the Regional Climate Protection Agency (RCPA). This agency coordinates countywide climate protection efforts among Sonoma County’s nine cities and multiple agencies. 

There are two, two-year positions available. The CAAC provides information and advice to the RCPA, staff and project consultants during the development and implementation of climate action programs but does not take official votes or make direct recommendations to any hearing body. CAAC members work with RCPA staff to develop and implement greenhouse-gas (GHG) reduction programs and measures in Sonoma County.   

Sectors sought for representation in the CAAC include:

  • Viticulture 
  • Business 
  • Community 
  • Non-profits 
  • Environmental 
  • Transportation 
  • Social Justice 
  • Environmental Justice
  • Real Estate 
  • Health 
  • Economic Development 
  • Education 
  • Open Space
  •  Waste 
  • Water
  • Building Efficiency 
The CAAC meets quarterly on the second Friday in January, April, July and October. Applicants shall be residents of Healdsburg.     

If you are interested, applications are available at Healdsburg City Hall, 401 Grove Street, Healdsburg, CA 95448,, (707) 431-3317 and on the City’s website at www.ci.healdsburg.ca.us under "Government: Boards and Commissions"  All completed applications must be submitted to the Office of the City Clerk by Monday, September 16, 2019, by 5 p.m.
