[ARCHIVED] Community Workshops and Public Survey on North Healdsburg Avenue Improvement Study

Map of North Healdsburg Avenue

The public is invited to provide input on how North Healdsburg Avenue can be improved for pedestrians and cyclists as well as vehicle-drivers at a community workshop on Tuesday, April 30, at 6 p.m. at the Healdsburg Community Center, 1557 Healdsburg Avenue.

The workshop is part of the Healdsburg Avenue Improvement Study, which will explore the potential to implement "complete streets" concepts and other streets enhancements. Complete streets are planned, designed, operated, and maintained to provide safe and convenient mobility for all users, including, but not limited to, pedestrians of all ages, bicyclists, transit and transit users, passenger and commercial vehicles, and individuals with disabilities.

The April 30 workshop is the first of two such community meetings to help the City develop an overall vision of streetscape improvements on Healdsburg Avenue, from Powell Avenue to the northern city limits. The second workshop will be held this summer, date to be determined.

These workshops aren't the only venues to provide public input. In March, the City convened a series of focus-group meetings to gather input from residents and businesses. And the City will soon make available an online map-based survey so people can note specific places and intersections that need improvement. Once that survey is available, the City will post it here on the City website as well as via social media and share with the local press.
