The City of Healdsburg Public Works Department, in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1) hereby gives notice of the City’s intent to revise the Foss Creek floodway, generally located between US Hwy. 101 and Grove Street. Specifically, the floodway shall be revised from a point behind 111 Healdsburg Avenue where Foss Creek crosses under Hwy. 101 to a point near 1582 Grove Street where Foss Creek crosses under Grove Street. As a result of the floodway revision, the floodway shall narrow with a maximum narrowing of 1400 feet at a point approximately 200 feet south of West Grant Street.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has recently completed a re-study of the Russian River in the Healdsburg area and will be adopting new floodplain maps effective September 6, 2006.
The city and FEMA hosted a public meeting to provide information and answer questions regarding the new floodplain maps on July 19th, 2006.
