- Provide leadership and planning for the effective and strategic use of emerging technologies
- Demonstrate technical and operational excellence through a commitment to professionalism and continuous improvement

- Use my skill and knowledge to inform the public in all areas of my expertise
- To the best of my ability, insure that the products of my work are used in a socially responsible way
- Support, respect, and abide by the appropriate local, state , provincial, and federal laws
- Never misrepresent or withhold information that is germane to a problem or situation of public concern nor will I allow any such known information to remain unchallenged
- Not use knowledge of a confidential or personal nature in any unauthorized manner to achieve personal gain
Environmental Responsibility
- We replace all equipment on a stringent replacement cycle to take advantage of the benefits of green computing
- Old computers, monitors, printers, and miscellaneous electronics are recycled with State-approved e-waste recycling contractors
- When possible, certain used equipment is made available for the public by auction, on PublicSurplus.com
- Cell phones are recycled with state-approved e-waste recycling contractors
- We monitor the performance of our computer facilities' A/C units, to minimize electrical power consumption
- We monitor computer electrical power needs, turning off unneeded equipment
- We espouse think before you print ideology and are constantly looking for ways to build efficiencies through printing less
- Our work is carefully scheduled to maintain customer service standards and simultaneously reduce emissions (driving less)
- Packing materials are re-used where possible and recycled in appropriate containers for pickup by the city's waste hauler
